General questions

How can I apply?

You can easily use our application form, which you can access via the ‘Apply now’ button in every job advertisement. Of course, security and confidentiality are very important to us!

Is it possible to apply by post?

At d.velop, we aim to maintain a paperless office because sustainability matters to us. For this reason, we welcome every application that we receive in digital form. This benefits not only us, but also you – digital applications can be processed much faster than postal ones and help protect the environment. So why not taking advantage of our online application form or send your application to us via email at jobs@d-velop.com.

When should I apply for an advertised position?

As soon as a job advertisement is published, we start the application process. Are you interested in an advertised position and it sounds like a good fit for you? Don’t wait and let us know who you are and what you can bring to the table. We are really looking forward to hearing from you!

What documents should my application contain?

We are always keen to get to know you as a person – in other words, we would like to know who you are, what your experience has been so far and what you are capable of. As a first step, we don’t necessarily need a complete application portfolio from you, but a first impression via a short CV or LinkedIn profile already gives us a good idea of what the next steps might look like.

Should I enclose a cover letter with my application?

Of course, we are always happy to receive a cover letter, as this allows us to find out more about your motivation and you as a person. But don’t worry, it’s not essential. We are happy to receive your application even without a cover letter attached!

Who should I address my cover letter to?

There is a contact person for each job advertised. Please send your documents to the relevant person. In all other cases, you can address your cover letter to Britta Liesbrock, our Chief Human Resources Officer.

I am interested in a position that has been on the careers page for some time. Is it up to date?

We always keep our careers page up to date – this means that you can apply for all vacancies that can be found in the careers portal. Don’t let the fact that the job advertisement has been available for a long time put you off. It is not uncommon for us to have multiple vacancies.

Is there an application deadline?

We do not have an application deadline. As long as the position is online on our website, you can apply at any time.

I would like to work at d.velop, but I can’t find a job advertisement that matches my profile.

You like what we do and would like to become part of the d.velop team, but unfortunately you haven’t found the right vacancy yet? No problem. We are always looking for motivated and committed d.velopers. You can simply send us an unsolicited application: tell us something about yourself, show us what your strengths are and how you would like to contribute.

Will I receive a confirmation of receipt?

You will automatically receive a confirmation from us when your documents have been entered into our system.
If you apply to us by email, we will send you the confirmation as soon as your application has been entered into our system. We will do our best to ensure that this happens as quickly as possible. We promise! If you have any questions or, exceptionally, have not heard from us, you are always welcome to contact us!

When will I receive feedback?

If you have successfully applied online via our application form, you will receive an immediate confirmation of receipt.
If you have applied by email, you will receive a confirmation of receipt as soon as your application has been entered into our system.
As we don’t want to keep you waiting for long, we always endeavour to process and carefully check all incoming applications as quickly as possible. This process may take a little time. We ask for your understanding. You will receive feedback from us within two weeks on how to proceed with your application. If you have any questions or, exceptionally, have not heard from us, you are of course always welcome to contact us!

I have applied but have not yet received a reply. What can I do?

Once you have submitted your application, you should receive a confirmation of receipt by email as soon as possible.
If you have applied using the form on our website, this will be fairly quick.
If you applied by email, it may take a little longer.
If you have not heard from us within 14 days, please contact us by email at jobs@d-velop.com or call us on +49 2542 93076767.

What happens to my application?

Firstly, your application will be entered into our system. Together with the recruiting managers from People & Culture, we look through your documents with appreciation and great interest. You will definitely hear from us within 14 days about the next steps. If, exceptionally, you have not heard back from us or you have any questions, please contact us!
Have you unfortunately received a rejection from us? Then don’t worry about your data. It will be automatically deleted from our system in accordance with the current legal deadlines.

Can I withdraw my application?

Sure, that’s no problem at all. If you want to withdraw your application, just let us know – either by email to jobs@d-velop.com or by telephone on +49 2542 93076767.

Who has access to my application documents?

Trust and security are our top priorities. That’s why only we from People and Culture and the recruiting manager(s) check your documents.

What does the typical application process look like?

After you have applied, you will receive a confirmation of receipt from us. We will then check your documents and usually get back to you within 14 days. Either with an invitation to an initial interview or a rejection. We will keep you up to date in any case!

How long does the entire application process take?

We try to organise the application process as quickly as possible. Depending on the availability of all parties involved, it usually rarely takes longer than four weeks. Because we want you to have clarity as quickly as possible and not have to wait for us!

How does an interview work?

As the name suggests: we want to get to know each other! You’ll meet a recruiting manager of the respective team and a person from People and Culture who would like to get to know you either in person or via video conference. We’ll see how well we fit together: Who are you? What motivates you? Which aspects of the job make your heart beat faster? We would like to know all of this.
It’s always important to us that we don’t have a tense interview situation; instead, we want to get to know each other as equals in a relaxed, open conversation. Of course, we also look forward to your questions. You will certainly also have questions about the new challenge at d.velop, as this is also an important decision for you.
Of course, we will also tell you what makes d.velop and the position in particular special, how we deal with each other and what we value. We will contact you by telephone with a proposed date for the introductory interview and will always confirm this by email afterwards.

Can I postpone my interview?

Of course!
If the time doesn’t suit you, just let us know. You can send us an email to jobs@d-velop.com or call us on +49 2542 93076767. We will then find a new date together.

What happens if I receive a rejection for my position?

Sometimes it’s just not the right time and it doesn’t work out at the first attempt.
You are welcome to apply again at any time for a vacancy that matches your expectations and skills.

Is it possible to apply for several positions at the same time and can I apply for other positions after a rejection?

Yes, of course. We would be delighted if you are interested in several of our vacancies. To ensure that it remains clear what you are applying for, please use the respective application form under the job advertisements and apply separately.

Is there an upper limit to how many jobs I can apply for?

No, we have no limit. If you are interested in more than one position, you are welcome to apply for several positions or send us an unsolicited application. Let us know which roles you are interested in.

Can I send an unsolicited application?

Yes, very much so! You can send us your documents using our application form. You can find the link here.

How can I inform the People and Culture team about any special arrangements I need to make during an interview?

You can inform us via the free text field in the application form or let us know by email at any time. We would be delighted if you could let us know your needs and inform us of any special arrangements so that we can prepare everything for you in the best possible way.

Do you hire people with disabilities?

Absolutely! We welcome all applications, regardless of physical or mental limitations.

How good should my language skills be?

That depends on the position as well as on the location you are applying for. If you’re applying for a position in one of our German locations, you’ll need German language skills at B2 level. If you’re applying for a position at our location in Romania, Romanian and English skills at B2 level are required.

I have a question but can’t find an answer in the FAQ. What can I do?

You can get in touch with us at any time.
Whether by email to jobs@d-velop.com or by telephone on +49 2542 93076767. We will be happy to answer all your questions. So that we can answer your questions even better in the future, we at d.velop also welcome constructive criticism at any time.

Preparation questions

How do I prepare for a job interview?

Don’t worry! The first interview is more of a non-binding introductory meeting. You don’t need to do much preparation for this. We are happy if you have familiarised yourself with us as a company and, ideally, ask a few questions on topics that interest you.

What do I wear to a job interview?

It’s simple: wear what you feel most comfortable in. We don’t have a strict dress code. We wear everything from hoodies to shirts. We look forward to getting to know you as you are.

What file format must my application have?

For security reasons, we only accept application documents in PDF format.

Can I change or add to my application at a later date?

No problem! If you want to change or add something, just send us a short email to jobs@d-velop.com or call us on +49 2542 93076767. We will be happy to make the adjustments for you.

I get an error message when uploading my files. What is the reason for this?

It could be that you are using the wrong file format. For security reasons, we only support PDF. If the problem persists, please contact us by telephone on +49 2542 93076767 or simply send your application by email to jobs@d-velop.com.

How long will my application remain in the system?

In accordance with the current legal data protection guidelines, your application will be automatically deleted from our system as soon as the prescribed period has expired. Would you like us to delete your documents earlier? We understand that. Just give us a brief notification and your data will be manually removed from our system immediately.

Which tool is used for virtual job interviews?

We use Microsoft Teams for our virtual job interviews. You don’t need to install anything. You will receive the link for the interview conveniently by email and can simply use it to take part.

What technical requirements do I need for a virtual job interview?

For a virtual job interview, you need a good internet connection, a working microphone and a camera. Also make sure you are in a well-lit spot so that we can see you clearly. Then nothing can go wrong!
